It’s a little synchronicity and the surprises in life that make it so fun. As a photographer, this one was a dream come true. Proposals are always exciting, but this was the one we didn’t see coming.

As we drove around Greenville, scouting locations for a couple photo session. (the couple was in the car with us) My photographer friend (Tanya) and I were both very impressed with the cool park on the river, appropriately named River Park.

It was mesmerizing to see the American Flag display. There are locks on the fence that surrounds the park, separating it from the water. Each lock represents a promise or commitment made between two people.

We came to see the old bridge, that is admittedly one of the most beautiful picture locations I’ve seen to date. Since we had to access it from the other side, it was obvious we came in at just the right second to witness this proposal. We were talking about how beautiful and romantic the place was and low and behold, there they are standing by the flags under a tree. I thought, awe look at that couple over there they look like a picture……

Then he dropped down on one knee, at the same time as our jaws. It was beautiful, still gives me chill bumps. So we of coarse waited to see what she would say, and she said YES!!!

And fortunately I had Tanya in the car who said, let’s go get their pictures. I laughed and was like “ummm okay, you ask” because I am way to shy to approach people like that, but she’s not. (Thank God for the fun, brave friend in our lives who pull us out of our comfort zone.) so she ran over and waved me over, and we got these beautiful pictures of Alyssa and Luis.
